About

“JoeyCare creates a shared parenthood world where babies can belong to any local family home and be nurtured to grow in a more trusted, sustainable, and affordable care setting.”

JoyeCare was founded from both personal experience and a deep understanding of the systemic challenges in childcare. As an immigrant, I have navigated the complexities of adapting to a new country while pursuing higher education and building a career. With a multidimensional background in politics, business, design and anthropology, I have always been deeply passionate about understanding cultures, social systems, and the nuances that shape family dynamics and workforce participation.

I am a passionate researcher exploring novel ways to understand the interaction of design, environment, technology, and social impact. This research-driven perspective allows me to approach childcare not just as a service but as a critical component of economic development, social equity, and workforce stability.

Through 15+ years as a newborn care specialist and nanny-share consultant, I witnessed firsthand how families—especially those with children ages 0-2—struggled to find affordable, high-quality, and culturally responsive childcare options. But it’s not just families who are affected—this crisis hits caregivers just as hard.

Many early childcare professionals—whether in home-based care or daycare centers—are underpaid, undervalued, and lack access to proper training and career growth. Despite playing a crucial role in child development, they often face financial instability, job insecurity, and little recognition for their expertise. Meanwhile, parents are left without options, and businesses lose talented employees—especially working mothers—who are forced to leave their jobs due to the lack of reliable childcare.

JoyeCare was established in 2020 as a concept idea, during a time when the childcare crisis deepened due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The closures of childcare centers, skyrocketing costs, and worsening workforce shortages highlighted the urgent need for a scalable and sustainable solution.

Why JoeyCare?

Access to affordable, high-quality childcare has become one of the most pressing challenges for families, businesses, and the economy. The lack of reliable infant care options limits workforce participation, strains household finances, and places an additional burden on caregivers—many of whom work in informal settings without professional support or career development opportunities. This is not just a family issue—it is a workforce and economic crisis that demands sustainable, scalable solutions.

The Cost & Availability Barrier

  • Many families are priced out of high-quality childcare, forcing them to choose between work and caregiving.
  • Long daycare waitlists and limited openings leave parents without reliable options, making it difficult to maintain stable employment.
  • Families with lower incomes face even fewer choices, leaving high-quality childcare as a privilege rather than a necessity.

Workforce Impact: A Hidden Barrier for Working Parents

  • The burden of childcare disproportionately falls on women, leading to career interruptions, wage gaps, and missed professional opportunities.
  • Employers face high turnover and decreased productivity as working parents struggle with unreliable childcare.
  • Parents without access to flexible, affordable childcare often reduce their work hours, leave jobs prematurely, or remain underemployed, impacting their long-term economic security.

The Economic Toll on Businesses & Communities

  • Businesses lose billions each year due to absenteeism, lost productivity, and talent attrition related to childcare challenges.
  • Companies struggle to retain skilled employees whose careers are disproportionately impacted by caregiving demands.
  • Economic growth suffers when parents—who want to work—are unable to participate fully in the workforce due to childcare constraints.

The Challenges Within the Childcare Industry

  • The childcare sector itself faces high operational costs, complex regulations, and resource limitations, making it difficult for childcare providers to stay in business, or offer more infant care spots.
  • Many early childhood educators and caregivers receive low wages with limited job security, contributing to high turnover and staffing shortages across the industry.
  • Informal nannies and home-based caregivers often work without access to training, professional development, or peer networks, leading to inconsistent care quality and a lack of career advancement opportunities.
  • Stay-at-home parents who could provide care to other families lack structured pathways to formalize their services, even when they have the skills to do so.

A System in Need of Reform

  • The Covid-19 pandemic further exposed the vulnerabilities in the childcare system, pushing families, businesses, and caregivers into an even greater crisis.
  • Many traditional childcare centers have struggled to remain open due to high operational costs and regulatory challenges, limiting options for working families.
  • Employers and policymakers must take action to implement innovative childcare models that ensure childcare is not a barrier to economic participation and workforce stability.
  • Caregivers need structured pathways for professional development, fair wages, and community support to improve care quality and create a more stable, empowered workforce.

What we offer:

“JoyeCare strives to alleviate the childcare crisis by designing the most comprehensive childcare-sharing platform to simplify, secure, and ease the search for affordable, high-quality care. We enable caregivers and families to create local care-sharing networks by matching stay-at-home parents, neighborhood families, and experienced nannies. Our goal is to raise and nurture infants and toddlers in a more trusted, convenient, and familiar environment at a lower cost while increasing the value of empowered caregivers”.

Our Mission

What Makes JoeyCare Unique?

At JoyeCare, we believe that every child deserves access to safe, high-quality, and affordable early childhood care, no matter where they live. Our mission is to bridge the gap in childcare accessibility by creating a scalable, home-based care infrastructure that works alongside formal childcare centers to support working families—especially in areas where quality care is hard to find.

JoyeCare isn’t just about childcare—it’s about empowering caregivers, supporting working parents, and strengthening local communities. By expanding economic opportunities for stay-at-home parents and professional caregivers, we are creating a more flexible, sustainable, and community-centered childcare model.

To achieve this, we aim to work closely with policymakers, businesses, and community leaders to integrate home-based childcare into the broader early education system. Our goal is to ensure that families and caregivers alike benefit from funding, regulatory support, and quality improvement initiatives that make home-based care a viable, respected, and well-supported option.

By aligning with state initiatives to improve early childhood care infrastructure, JoyeCare is laying the foundation for a future where every family has access to high-quality, community-driven infant and toddler care solutions that work for them.

How do we do it?

JoyeCare aims to transform the childcare industry by harnessing the potential of private residences and strategically deploying childcare professionals to meet the fluctuating demand for infant and toddler care.

Through an advanced technological platform, we:
✔ Identify underserved areas where access to quality child care is limited.
✔ Facilitate cost-sharing solutions that make childcare more affordable for working parents.

✔ Deploy childcare professionals efficiently, ensuring families in underserved areas can access care.

✔ Connect families with trusted providers in their own communities.

✔ Support working parents—especially mothers—in staying employed without sacrificing quality care for their children.

✔ Create economic opportunities for caregivers and stay-at-home parents, offering structured work and professional growth.

✔ Help businesses retain employees by integrating employer-supported childcare benefits that help retain employees and strengthen workforce participation.

Our model

is a direct intervention in childcare deserts, where the availability of infant care facilities falls short of the growing demand. By creating small-scale, high-quality care environments in residential settings and building a more strong childcare network in neighborhoods, we ensure that families have safe and trusted care options close to home.

Beyond accessibility, JoyeCare is building an ecosystem that supports caregivers—both professional and stay-at-home parents—by providing:

✔ Training and certification programs to elevate care quality.
✔ A structured system that integrates home-based childcare into the broader early education framework.
✔ Advocacy for funding and policy support to ensure sustainable wages and high standards of care.

At JoyeCare, we are not just providing a childcare solution; we are building a movement—one that ensures every child, every family, and every caregiver has the resources and support they need to thrive. We help build culturally responsive and community-driven childcare infrastructure to support diverse family needs.
